Natural Phenomenon
Svetinja spring, also known as Ibret Spring, is a unique natural phenomenon - an intermittent karst spring that appears and disappears at regular intervals. Water springs from a crack in the limestone rock and cascades over a rocky ledge in a waterfall about 16 meters high. The picnic area is managed by the Bužim communal utility (Komunalno preduzeće Bužim) and is under video surveillance. Located in the Čava area, near Dobro Selo. Best access: via Čava — from the R401 road (Bužim—Bosanska Krupa) turn at the Svetinja signpost in central Čava; asphalt almost to the end, only about 1 km of gravel.

Water
Svetinja spring is an intermittent karst spring - water flows in regular intervals then stops. The mechanism is explained by a special system of cracks and channels inside the hill: groundwater collects in an underground reservoir (cavern) connected to the surface by an inverted siphon. When the reservoir fills, a vacuum is created and water discharges by siphon action. Each discharge lasts about 30 minutes. In summer, water flows 1-2 times daily; in rainy periods, more frequently. The water then cascades over a rock ledge in a waterfall approximately 16 meters high. There are only about 30 such springs worldwide.

Location
The Svetinja picnic area is located in the Čava area, near Dobro Selo, about 11 km from Bužim center (Google navigation). Best route: take the R401 main road (Bužim—Bosanska Krupa) to central Čava, where a signpost marks the turn for Svetinja — the road is asphalted almost to the end, only about 1 km of gravel. The area is managed by Komunalno preduzeće Bužim, under video surveillance, with an entry fee of 2 KM. Set up as a large park — all facilities built from natural materials, blending into the surroundings with a high level of cleanliness.
